Edward F. Hamm, president of the Kenilworth Park board until recently when he resigned because of ill health, died suddenly on Monday at St. Augustine, Fla., as his wife and son, Fred, were speeding to his bedside. Mr. Hamm was 66 years old. He was chairman of the board of directors of the Blakely Printing Company, with which he became associated in 1903. Before becoming chairman of the board he was president of the company, a position now held by his son, Fred. Mr. Hamm was born at Burlington, Iowa. He started in the printing business in Cleveland, coming to Chicago in 1892. He was president of the Traffic World, an official railroad and shipping publication, president of Franklin Typothetae, president of the Traffic Service corporation, and a member of various organizations. He belonged to the Union League club, the Chicago Athletic association and the Indian Hill Country club. Surviving him are his widow, Sarah Hamm, two sons, Fred of Evanston and Edward F., Jr., Kenilworth, and three daughters, Mrs. Rush C. Butler, Jr., of Lake Forest, Mrs. Homer Robertson of Winnetka and Miss Harriet Hamm of Kenilworth. Funeral services for Mr. Hamm will be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at his late residence. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery. The Rev. Herbert L. Willett of the Kenilworth Union church will officiate the services. Mr. Hamm was a member of the Union Church. He had served as president of the church board and as a trustee. The Kenilworth Village board, at its regular meeting Monday night passed a resolution of the condolence and sympathy to be given to Mr. Hamm's family.
