Harold L. Ickes, 77, former Secretary of the Interior under Presidents Roosevelt and Truman, and a former resident of Winnetka, 900 South Private Road, north of Tower Road, died Sunday night in the Emergency Hospital at Washington D.C. Born on a farm near Hollidaysburg, Pa., Mr. Ickes came to Chicago when he was 16 years old to make his home with an aunt, following the death of his mother. His first wife, Anna Wilmarth Ickes, died after an automobile accident in 1935. He is survived by his second wife, Mrs. Jane Dahlman Ickes, their children, Harold McEwen, 12, and Elizabeth, 10, and by his son by his first wife, Raymond Wilmarth Ickes.
