Walter C. Larned, a well known author and lecturer on art, died in his home in Winnetka, Friday, following a lingering illness. He was 64 years of age. Mr. Larned was formerly art editor on Chicago daily newspapers. He was a graduate of Harvard law school. Besides being author of many volumes on art and history, Mr. Larned gave lectures throughout the country on these topics. He leaves three sons, Walter c. Larned, Jr., Rev. John I. B. [initials unclear] Larned and Edwin C. Larned, and one daughter, Mrs. Frances W. Blatchford of Winnetka. Private funeral services were held in the home Sunday afternoon. The burial was in Graceland cemetery.
