Joseph E. Shantz, former Wilmette postmaster, has become associated with the Murphy-Miles Oil company, and according to an announcement will have charge of the fuel oil sales in Wilmette. The company’s plant is on Willow Road west of Winnetka. Mr. Shantz is one of the “oldtimers” in point of residence, having lived here since 1880. He is a veteran of the Spanish—Anerican and World wars and was postmaster for twelve years.
