John B. Mansfield, 66 years old, 6565 Yale avenue, Chicago, a well known editor, died of heart disease Sunday, December 16, at the home of his cousin, A. T. Irvin, 129 Sixth street, Wilmette, where he had been visiting for the day.

Mr. Mansfield was born in Ashland, O., and came to Chicago some thirty years ago. He entered newspaper work with the old Chicago Times, becoming city editor and staying there for fifteen years. Later he entered the field of commercial and trade journalism.

Burial was at Ashland, Ohio.
