Funeral services for Gertrude Johnston, who passed away on Monday, April 4, after an illness of only ten days, were held at Forest Home on Tuesday, April 5, Dr. Hubert Carleton of the St. Augustine's Episcopal church officiating.

Mrs. Johnston was the wife of William A. Johnston, to whom she was married just twenty years ago in June at the St. Augustine's church by Rev. H. B. Heald. During recent years she had resided with her husband and son, William Alcock Johnston, at 2063 Jarvis avenue in Rogers Park. She was well known in and around Wilmette as she had spent the summers here for several years and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Horn, formerly residents of this village. She was also a sister of Mrs. Walter Hanna, who at one time resided here. She is survived by her husband and son.
