Ellen Vaughan Howe,of Evanston, IL and Sunset, ME died on June 25 at her Evanston residence. Mrs. Howe (known to her family and friends as Tina) leaves her husband of 69 years, Lawrence Howe; four children, James Howe of Cambridge, MA and Francestown, NH, Ellen Howe (Hoyle) of New York City and Farmington, CT, Eliza Earle of Winnetka, IL and South Orleans, MA, and Samuel Howe of Norwalk, CT and Sunset, ME; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Born in Boston, Mrs. Howe was raised by her father (her mother having died shortly after her birth) in Prides Crossing, a Boston suburb, with three siblings, all of whom predeceased Mrs. Howe.
