Drury, 622 Central avenue, entertained at dinner on Monday evening, November 22, the occasion being the fiftieth anni- versary of their wedding. The table was beautifully decorated in white and gold and covers were laid for eighteen. The guests included Mrs. Edwin Drury, Mrs. IJllian D. Northam, Mr. and Mrs. Norman S. Betts, Mr. Clarence H. Drury, a son, and his bride of Evansville, Intl., Mrs. Leroy S. Mallory of La Grange, Mr. Asahel S. Kellogg, and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy B. Hammond of Chicago, and six of the thirteen grand children, Mr. George E. Drury, the eldest son, and his family of Los Angeles, Cal., were unable to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Drury have been residents of the village for forty- seven years, and received many beau- tiful floral and other gifts from their friends. The Reading circle will be enter- tained at the home of Mrs, D. L. Taylor, 849 Michigan avenue, on Monday afternoon of next week. Perhaps many of us do not realize that this small circle of some twenty members has been in existence for the past seventeen years, and has been meeting bi-monthly in many of our oldest Wilmette homes. Mrs. Dolder, formerly Miss Inez English of Wilmette, is spending several weeks with her par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. George English, who are now residing in North Edge- water. Mr and Mrs. H. K. Steele en- tertained at a dinner dance on Tues- day evening last at the home of the latter, 2702 Sheridan road, Evanston. There were covers for twenty-four guests. Miss Ethelwynne Magie . of Two Rivers, Wis., who has been living at the home of her aunt, Mrs. C. A. Keller, 820 Greenwood avenue, while she attended Northwestern Uni- versity, has moved to Willard Hall in Evanston, where she will stay for the rest of her senior year. On Saturday, November 27, Mrs. Alexander Nelson entertained at a six-thirty dinner in her home, 901 Chestnut avenue. Covers were laid for forty. The guests were boy and girlhood friends, some of whom had not seen each other for twenty years. Mrs. Edward L.
