And "Boyville" for the young fel- lows who are trying hard to get strong so that they may help take care of their mothers, little brothers and sisters, and having lots of fun in the meantime. There is a spacious, well ventilated dining halt near the entrance to the camp, with model kitchens, and a library adjoining with its inviting fireplace, well filled book shelves, tables and writing materials. This is not a business meeting. We're going to get to- gether and have a good time, and you're the loser of you're not there. There will be lots of the new mem- bers there, and the famous Barber will roar for them. ' The chief attraction for this meet- ing will he "Johnny" Hartman from the headquarters of the -service de partment. He is making the rounds of the posts in Cook county and will visit with us and speak to us that night. The State Department of the Le- gion is getting results in their fight for the disabled men. The state of Illinois is leading all the states of the ions and plans for those for whom the war can never be over. Cottages will be pro- vided for the tuberculosis patients and a Rehabilitation Home for the psycopathic cases. THE where classes may be taught, and an open air sewing pavilion on the beach equipped with sewing ma- chines and work tables, where the mothers learn to mend, patch and make over garments under the able direction of an instructor. Women of the north shore send up quantifies of clothing. But the best place of all on a pleas- ant summer's day is the wonderful beach and the ravines which lead down to it. Just about everybody goes swimming. On May 1 begins the annual drive in this village for funds for_Ajf_deJL $hore. It will be an unprecedented opportunity to help in a cause of un- disputed merit. It is not charity, in the ordinary sense, it's helping these unfortunate ones to be able to better help themselves. Herbert Hyde, well known Amer- ican pianist and organist at St. Luke's church, Evanston, and E. Carleton Kaumeyer, violinist, and musical director will appear as the artists, playing their own and other compositions by such artists as Dohnanyi and Rachmaninoff employ- ing fh*» Ampico reproducing__device in the Chickering piano in reproduc- tion and as accompanist to the violin selections. The presence of this great pianist in America is an event of supreme importance. As a pianist JDohnauyi enjoys world-wide renown, as a com- poser his fame is international, and he has shown himself to lie an or- chestra conductor of distinction. Not *ince the advent of Rachmaninoff has so great a figure in the musical world visited our shores. On Sunday afternoon, April 17, Dohnanyi made his debut before the music lovers of Chicago in his con- cert at the Illinois theatre. The critics were unanimous in their praise. The Chicago Tribune of April 18 said: "Mr-Dohnanyi paints with a brush soaked in vivid color. There is in- tensity in his rhythms, his phrases are sharply cut. Like all the routined artistic great he strangles a minimum of jJOtes.jQ from the reckless critical viewpoint his technic may be desig- nated infallible." MRS. MAURICE H. LIEBER SPEAKER AT LOGAN MEETING . The May meeting of the Logan school Parent-Teacher association will'be held Monday afternoon, Jrtay 2, at .3 o'clock, in the Kindergarten room of the school. Mrs. Maurice H. Lieber, who has so successfully conducted parliamentary law classes in the various north shore villages, is the speaker. Afrs. Lieber will tell of the bills now before the Illinois Legislature and the National Congress pertaining to women and child labor.
