Mrs. E. E. Harwood of Olympia Fields went into the lead in the Wednesday play with an excellent round of 4£â€"45â€"88. Mrs. J. W. Douglass of Westmoreland negotiated the round in 47â€"46â€"93. and Mrs. W. Anderson of Indian Hill in 45â€"48â€"93, tying for second place. Miss Elizabeth Klotz of Indian Hill, who lost^the Chicago"City title a few weeks ago, had 47â€"52-^-99 The final 18 holes, the approaching and putting contests were played on Thursday. â€"â€"__________: The open event, scheduled for Monday of this week at theljlen^ view club under auspices of the Woman's Western Golf association, was postponed because of inclement weather and has been re-allotted for some time in September. J^he Qualifying round of the Pres- ident's trophy will be played Saturday of this week at the North Shore Golf club. There will be handicap play, thirty-two to ciualify. There will be play also in the John E. Cawkwell Trophy event. Today is Guest Day for the women members of the club and on next Friday there will 4>e a mixed two-ball foursome event for the women of the club. Winnetka Playfield golfers will en- gage in the First Round, Match Play; of the August Class Tournament Sat- urday and Sunday. The Second and Semi-Final rounds will he played on succeeding Saturdays and Sundays. The Final Round Will be played on August 27 or 28.
