These articles are of in- terest to every resident of this villagre. The third of the series will appear in next week's issue of The Lake Shore NfiWS Readers of this paper are invited to I express. through these columns, their views on the Sunday Closing: question. It is a matter that concerns every homt' owner who, at the present time or in the future, may have property on the selling; market. By A. R. Eddington (of A. R. Eddington £ Co.) It has been truly and wisely said,- tfial^'AH workâ€"and no play makes Jack a dull boy". • No matter what business a man may be engaged in, if he continually grinds, day in and day out, Sundays, nights and holidays, it will only be a matter of a short time before he will become stale and dull, and will be un- able to do himself justice or give his clients or customers the proper at- tention they deserve. The Real Estate business, perhaps. general public with whom they have1 been in contact all the week. The North Shore Real Estate board was organized principally to raise the! moral standard of the profession, and to keep all the real estate offices closed on Sundays. It is evident that no other organization or set of men influence the lives of so many people and to such a degree add to their comfort and happiness as do the Real- tors. We should, therefore, have the hearty co-operation of all the home owners on the north shore. Let us all insist then, on not show- ing our homes on Sundays or allow them to be shown by others. BAND AND ORCHESTRA NOW FEATURES OF SCHOOL MUSIC Music, recognized as an important detail of public school instruction, is a particularly interesting feature of school work in the Wilmette Public schools. *** Each year the schools have had their band, players being selected from the upper grades in the Central and Logan schools. The band meets! for rehearsals on Tuesday and Friday^ eveninfes at 8 o'clock, and appears at special school progp^ms. This year the schools are tcy include an orchasert among their musical oh ionizations. The orchestra is now in course of organization and candidates from the various schools have been requested to appear at rehearsals on Monday and Thursday evenings at 8 o'clock. Rehearsals are conducted in the Byron C. Stolp school auditorium. KENILWORTH YOUTH SOPH PRESIDENT AT NEW TRIER Darrell Ware, one of the most pop- upal students at New Trier Township High school, has been elected presi- dent of the Sophomore class at the north shore secondary school. Ware's home is in Kenilworth. Other officers elected at the first meeting of the Sophomore class were, Marcia Bruch, Wilmette, vice presi- dent; Caroline Everett, Kenilworth, secretary; Winfield Taylor, Wilmette, treasurer. Formerly when real es- tate offices were opened on Sundays, we hardly had a chance to become "ac- quainted with^our families. There is, after all, something in this life besides the continual grind of business. But it is a fact nevertheless, that a few, very few dealers on the north shore have an. idea that they must work 365 days in the year in order to make a living, not realizing that their sup- ply is right here and they can find it in the days set aside for that purpose. Need Day of Quiet Furthermore, the home owners, al- though they may be ever so anxious to dispose of their property, certain- ly do not relish the idea of a lot of strangers trailing through their homes on this particular day when they have planned on having a day of quietness away from business and the 1160 Wilmette Avenue Telephone Wilmette 311 LET m dean them for yoa-dean them right and restore the brightness thai was one, theirs* _________.
