' The pastor will attend the pastoral conference of the District of Northern Illinois of the Lutheran Church which is to convene at Bethlehem church, Evanston, Tuesday to Thursday August 28 to 30. ^ On Sunday morning September 2. Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. John's in the first service at 9-45 oclock. The preparatory service Segins at 9:30. Those desiring to go to the Sacrament are requested to make this known to the pastor on Friday, August 31. Week-day classes for children will be resumed at St. John's on Monday, September 17 at 4 o'clock. There will be two classes meeting every Monday and Friday afternoon, the Junior class under the direction of Miss Clara Mueller for all children from 8 to 11 years, and the Senior Divisiem in charge of the pastor for children 11 years of age and over. Mr. Stoffer will be the Foreign represent- ative of the local church. A special meeting of the Board of Deacons will be held on Tuesday evening, August 28, at the Manse. BAPTIST CHURCH Rev Eugene Mintz of Oshkosh, Wis- consin, will be the morning Preacher at the Baptist church on Sunday, August 26 at 11 o'clock. The Bible School will meet at ten oclock where provision will be made on the summer basis for instruction for all grades and ages.
