Full Text

A. H. Edmonds Thursday received the membership certificate of the local troop of colored Boy Scouts. The certificate, which is the first of the new design to be issued, is signed by President Taft, Theodore Roosevelt and James E. West, chief scout master. The troop belongs in Evanston. The colored scouts, which are the only ones in the United States, are making plans for their summer camping. It is thought that they will spend two weeks along the lake shore between this city and Waukegan.
