- Elizabeth Wiley Sutherland, 106, died Dec. 9, 1997 in her Wilmette home shortly after her 106th birthday. Mrs. She was born in Toulon, Ill., the daughter of the Rev. William R. Wiley. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter N. Sutherland. Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne S. (Walter) Miller of Wilmette and Nancy S. (John) Sampson of Sanibel, Fla.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. All of her eight grandchildren were raised in Wilmette. One, Suzanne (John) Miller Kilner and their two children, Beth and Paul, still live in Wilmette. Her other grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Lisa Miller (John) Timberlake and their children J.R. and Brittany of Marion, Ohio; Diane (Larry) Sampson Fieberg and their daughter Darlene of Galena; Jay (Carol) Sampson and their son Blake of Edmond, Okla.; Dave (Mikey) Sampson and their children, Christian and Laura from Salt Lake City, Utah, Karen Sampson Zurn (Mike) and their children, Paul, Beth and Hannah of from [sic] Morrison, Ill.; Greg (Karee) Sampson and their children Emily and Natalie of Dallas; and Richard (Nancy) of Dallas; and Richard (Nanci) Sampson of Chalfont, Pa.
