- Ruth Cooper Johnson died March 9 at the Wagner Health Care Center in Evanston. She was 94. Mrs. Johnson was born in 1901, the fifth child of America Hay and Alfred Clayton Cooper, then the sheriff of Ransom County in the Dakota Territory. She married Stephen Sigurd Johnson. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter, Ruth Anne (Robert G.) Frazier; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
