- Hally Ward Grainger, died Nov. 7 in her Wilmette home. She was 96. Mrs. Grainger was preceded in death by less than one month by her husband, philanthropist William W. Grainger. Survivors include a son, David W. Grainger of Winnetka; a daughter, Barbara Tresemer of Oregon; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The Rev. James L. Pike of the Community Church of Wilmette officiated at the funeral.
