Weddings: Mary Latham and Whipple Jacobs

Among the prenuptial parties arranged for Miss Mary Latham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl R. Latham of Evanston, formerly of Wilmette, whose marriage to Whipple Jacobs of Glencoe takes place on Saturday, October 20 [1923], was a luncheon and bridge given yesterday by Mrs. C. C. Carnahan and her daughter, Mrs. Donald Simmons at the Carnahan residence, 700 Central avenue; a trousseau tea to be given by Mrs. Latham and her daughter, this afternoon; a luncheon given by Mrs. C. P. Evans, 616 Gregory avenue, on Saturday, and a dinner and theater party on Saturday evening, with Mr. Tracy Alden as host. Next Tuesday afternoon, Miss Sarah Bennet will entertain at bridge at her home in Evanston, and on Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Everett Cook of Evanton will entertain. Thursday evening Mr. Jacobs will give his bachelor dinner at Skokie Country Club and on the following evening, Mr. and Mrs. Latham will give the bridal dinner at their residence. Last Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. John King of Evanston, formerly Miss Helen Osgood, entertained at bridge in honor of Miss Latham and Mr. Jacobs.
