- Mrs. H. J. Smith, 211 Ninth street, received a letter from her sister, Miss Lena Miller, who is with Dr. F. H. Besley's unit, known as Base Hospital No. 12, asking for a phonograph and some records
Wilmette Woman's Club will hold luncheon next Wednesday. Hostesses will be Mrs. Theodore Breyer and Miss Martha L. Jenkins. Mrs. George R. Dean of the Illinois Training School for Girls, and Judge Mary Bartelme of the Juvenile court will speak
Illinois State Federation of Woman's Clubs will hold annual convention at Sinai Temple in Chicago on November 13-15. The local club is sending material for an exhibition to illustrate activities in "Conservation" Wilmette delegates to the convention are Mrs. Carl Latham, Mrs. H. B. Gates, Mrs. Max Zabel, Mrs. C. C. Prescott and Mrs. H. G. Hodgkins.
"Husking bee" last Saturday at the Mahoney farm in Kenilworth. Attorney William Haperman of 1008 Ashland avenue won.
Miss Clara Conrad entertained guests at a Halloween dinner Saturday at her home on Chestnut avenue. Prizewinners were Miss Frances Regar of Chicago and Mr. George Stevens of Winnetka.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Jackson Casse closed their home at 633 Forest avenue, and taken an apartment at 200 East Pearson Street, Chicago, for the winter.
Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Tuttle entertained with a farmer's dinner at their home 622 Washington avenue on Friday evening.
Mrs. E. R. Stone entertained guests at her home, 626 Washington avenue, at a Halloween party for her son, George.
Mrs. Fred White was hostess to one of the Tuesday luncheon and bridge clubs at her home 1021 Central avenue.
Khartoum Chapter, Daughters of the British Empire, held business meeting Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. Angus Steven, 124 Broadway avenue. Letters were read from various British and Scots hospitals thanking the chapter for hospital supplies.
Mrs. Alexander N. McCallum entertained with a hay rack ride dinner on Halloween for her daughter, Jean, at her home, 831 Central avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barrett will entertain at dinner preceding dance at the Ouilmette Country Club on Friday
