- Mrs. Bessie Tippett Balhatchet, 78, of 725 Tenth St., Wilmette, died last Thursday in Evanston Hospital. Born in Point Pleasant, W. Va. She was a descendant of Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Survivors include her husband, William; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Alford, 165 Fuller Ln., Winnetka, Mrs Paul C. Zempel, St. Louis and Mrs. Arthur R. Weir, Shaker Heights, O.; a sister, Mrs. Albert Potter, Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
