- Wilmette's Village Board expects to begin discussions about affordable rental housing Tuesday with a definition similar to that of actual low-income housing instead of "moderately-priced" housing formerly discussed. Developer, Mort Balaban, is concerned the Board might set the level for affordable housing so low he can't build an affordable apartment buildling without subsidies, which he wants to avoid.
