Mr. James S. Pershing, brother of General John A. Pershing, Commander-in-Chief of the American Expeditionary Forces in France, will be a dinner-guest of the Ouilmette Country Club on Saturday night. He will address the members and guests. The room will be decorated with original posters of the allied nations will be the principal decorations. Later in the evening there will be dancing.

Thirty-five boys patronized the canteen recently opened in the Brown building for supper. Later they were guests at the Army and Navy club dance at the Woman's Club. This Saturday the cocmmittee in charge will include Mrs. Jacob Greiner, Mrs. G. B. Morrison, Mrs. Richard Jordan, Mrs. C. H. Deachler and Mr. J. Melville Brown.

Mrs. Petersen of the Rumford Department of Household Economics will resume her lectures on food conservation at the Congregational Church of Wilmette on Sept. 3.

Miss Elsie Wiederaenders [unclear] and Ernest T. Duis of Gothenburg, Nebraska, were married at the Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 22. The reception was held at the bride's home, 1507 Highland Avenue

Lieutenant Louis Bruch stationed at Taliaferro Field, Texas, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bruch, 1201 Greenwood avenue. Merrit Bluch [Bruch] is also at home on leave of absence.

Ladies Aid society of the Methodist church will hold the first cafeteria luncheon of the fall on September 6.

Paul Lobannof, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Lobannof, 1118 Greenleaf avenue, is in Washington, D. C. interested in the organization of a signal corps. Another son, Robert M., is in France with the 120th Field Artillery.

Mrs. E. R. Selleck, formerly Miss Margaret Hall of Camp Dodge, Iowa, was the guest of Miss Clara Nourse, 1137 Greenwood avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Clarke of Tiffin, Ohio, formerly of Wilmete, announce the engagement of their daughter, Florence Gertrude, to Benjamin R. Kagy of Tiffin, formerly of Salem, Illinois.

Miss Helen Shurtleff, 813 Lake avenue, is visiting Miss Peggy Williams in Rockford, Illinois. Her brother, Howard, is stationed at Camp Grant.

Miss Alice Shurtleff, 813 Lake avenue, will leave Monday for Milwaukee, where she will teach in high school this year.

Mrs. Joseph J. Kutten will open her home at 915 Eleventh street, for a card party to venefit Villa de Chantal Alumni war relief work.

Mr. and Mrs. Worthington and two children, 602 Lake avenue, are spending a week at Fox Lake, Illinois.

Dr. Leonard K. Scott of New Orleans, La., is visiting his sister, Mrs. Louis T. Starkel, 925 Oakwood avenue, this week.

Mrs. B. McKay and two daughters of El Paso, Texas, visited Mrs. C. H. Kelmm, 420 Park Avenue.
