Notes
Wilmette president Christopher Canning worries that the Emerald Ash Borer might be more damaging than the previous infestation of Dutch Elm disease. Wilmette was one of the first Cook County communities to detect the presence of the ash-tree killing emerald ash borer last June. Wilmette has since lost 126 ash trees. Canning attended a summit meeting Monday hosted by U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk, R-10th, of Highland Park on possible controls.
