- Long-time Winnetka resident Mary Mead Flanagin died Saturday, May 26, in Evanston Hospital.
The daughter and granddaughter of newspaper publishers in Erie, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Flanagin was born in 1931. She married Neil Flanagin in 1960.
Mrs. Flanagin is survived by her brother Ed Mead of Erie, Pennsylvania; four children: John (Annette) Flanagin, Margot Flanagin (Dion) Kapsimalis, Nancy (Bill) Doyle, and Jill Yavitt; and seven grandchildren: Jake, Katie, Brendan, Henry, Sam, Julia, and Grace.
