- The creation of an American Legion baseball program in Evanston might extend the old rivalry with New Trier. Evanston's Post 42 tied with the Wilmette Waves Thursday at Northwestern University's Rocky Miller Park. With the exception of Evanston catcher Mike Kotler who lives in Evanston but attends North Shore Country Day School--both legion teams are made up entirely of players from the respective high schools. Wilmette players mentioned include Zach Hofeld, Jack Boehm, Will Neal, Dan Pritz, John Wagner, Tracy Francis, Paul Duncan, J. B. Blanchard, Trey Frahler, T. J. O'Donnell
