- Evanston now has the baby lodge of Elkdom--many candidates were institiated into the Order at ceremony at the Woman's Club building Monday afternoon. Entertainment included music by Swansey's orchestra, Miss Edith Maldwiwn Jones, Miss Stults. Prof. Ralph B. Dennis gave some Kipling readings. Mr. W. W. Colwell was toastmaster along with James B. Lane. Charles J. White is treasurer of the grand lodge. Other grand lodge members who spoke were Fred B. Robinson, Dr. W. R. Fletcher, and H. C. Mathison. Edward Curry, former resident of Evanston, headed a delegation of Elks from Joliet lodge. John F. Stafford is exalted ruler of the Evanston lodge.
