- More than 6,000 people voted to buy Mallinckrodt Park for the Wilmette Park District five years ago. It was finally completed late lat month. Lois and Art Solomon were deeply involved in saving the land for a park, but Art Solomon died in 2004 before it was completed. The SOlomons were part of a grass-roots effort known as the Citizens Action League for Mallinckrodt including the SOlomons, ndrea Anderson, Nan Hoff, Lali and Ian Watt and Joanne Aggens.
