- First National Bank of Wilmette, formerly located on Central Avenue, relocated to 1150 Wilmette avenue in the building formerly occupied by the Village Theater.
The bank was organized in 1916, and the first president was the late F. I. Baker. It was located at Main street and Central avenue. After Mr. Baker retired, Mr. J. M. Appel became the president. In 1921 the bank took quarters in the McGuire and Orr Block on Central avenue. About three years ago E. B. Knudston [sic] purchased Mr. Appel's interests and became the third president of the First National Bank of Wilmette. Edwin Bertinus Knudtson current bank president - Date of Publication
