Notes
Regency Development LLC has proposed a four-story mixed use building at Ridge Road and Wilmette Avenue. Preservationists say it would mean the loss of buildings with deep links to the area's early history. The project would raze existing buildings at 400 to 418 Rodge Road which now hold the Heritage Trail Mall, Dieter & Denmar Salon & Day Spa, a dry cleaners and an apartment building. Comments by Community Development Director John Adler. Comments by Kathy Hussey-Arntson of the Wilmette Historical Museum. Philip and John Hoffman built Hoffman building in 1909. The building north of it housed Otto Kempe's shoe store which opened in the early 1880s.
