- Frank Bryant Santos, a longtime reporter and editor with the Pioneer Press newspaper chain, 78, of Skokie died March 29 following complications from surgery at Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie. Born Feb. 26, 1930, he grew up in the Boston, Mass., area. His father, Nathalio Santos, was a native of Cape Verdean (Island), in Portugal. His mother, Eva Lillian Freeman, hailed from Elizabeth City, N.C. In addition to his son, Mr. Santos is survived by his sister Marianne and his brother Charles.
