- The faculty/student basketball game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday.
•Spring clubs started this week.
•The Lake County Band Festival for seventh and eighth grades is scheduled for Saturday.
•In celebration of National Poetry Month in April, the students will hold a fund-raising book fair at the Barnes & Noble book store at Westfield Old Orchard shopping center in Skokie, and perform their original works of poetry from 6-8 p.m.
•Arts week is scheduled May 12-15.
•A variety of open volunteer positions are available on the PTO board, on both the general and the executive boards for parents of Highcrest sixth-graders and Wilmette Junior High seventh-graders. More information also is available from Cheryl Smith and Mimi Rodman.
•Youth Connection is looking for District 39 parents who'd like to volunteer as board members and help with after-school programs, community service projects, public relations or fund raising. More information is available from Bill Perkins
•Cafeteria volunteers are needed Monday through Friday in June. Anyone interested may contact Kaci Smith.
