- Glenveiw native G. R. Kearney volunteered at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago's Pilsen neighbornood after graduation from Georgetown University. The book, "More Than a Dream," describes his experiences in the school as a teacher. Father John Foley, who grew up in Winnetka and Wilmette, is now executive chair of the board of the Cristo Rey Network.
