- Guests of the Evanston Historical Socety at the Raddin lecture Saturday saw new acquisitions. Included is an 1862 autograph of Abraham Lincoln attached to a pardon for Charles Hughes convicted of theft. Text of the document included. Another artifact is the ball from the flagstaff of the Lady Elgin wrecked near Evanston. This was received from the children of Mrs. John R. McLean who saved it from the lake at that time. Mr. Raddin showed an old wall candlestick from the Buckeye Inn.
