- Howard Moore, superintendent of the North Shore Juvenile Protective association, came before the village board and made a strong appeal to appoint a matron for the bathing beach; have both public and private beaches policed; provide toilets and bath house to change clothes; lifeguard service. The village declined because of lack of funds.
