The wedding of Miss Maude Allen to Mr. Jesse Duer Phillips will take place at the family residence Saturday, September 18, at 8 o'clock in the evening.
Miss Dorothy Allen, sister of the bride, will be maid of honor, and Mr. Joseph Phillips, of Boston, brother of the bridegroom, will be best man. Two little nieces of the bride, Lois and Robecca Allen, will be flower girls. There will be four ushers, Mr. Everitt [unclear] Allen, Mr. Boardman H. Hopper of Merlon, Pa.; Mr. Joseph Hamilton [unclear] of Evanston, and Mr. John Erickson of Chicago.
Invitations have been issued by Mrs. Charles McCue of 631 Washington avenue for a luncheon and shower to be given Friday of this week, in honor of Miss Maude Allen, whose marriage to Mr. Jesse D. Phillips will take place September 19th.
The Epsilon chapter of the Zeta Beta Psi sorority were the guests at a very pretty luncheon last Thursday afternoon given by Miss Clementine Eastman at her home, 412 Central avenue. The dining room was very elaborately decorated in yellow and white. Covers were laid for twenty-four.
Mrs. William Bradley, 744 Eleventh street, and Mrs. Lloyd Lourie entertained at bridge on Friday afternron at the home of Mrs. Lourie, 1023 [unclear] Lake avenue.
A merry crowd of young people took possession of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Collier, 691 Lake avenue, over the weekend and Labor Day. They were the guests of Miss Dorothy Collier and all former members of the Kewatin Camp. The Misses Marion and Helen Roberts of Wilmette, Miss Louise Huesner of Portland, Oregon, and Messrs. Karl Kroeck of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; William Carter, Robert Barger, and Kent Curtiess of Chicago; and Edward Austin of Wilmette made up the party.
Mrs. Carl P. Johnson, 222 Tenth street, entertained at luncheon on Tuesday of last week in honor of Mrs. George Powers of Butler, Indiana, who has been visiting her for several days. The guests were Mrs. E. M. Heacock, Mrs. J. L. Morrison, Mrs. Fanning of Butler, Indiana, and Mrs. George Powers and her daughter, Lois, of Butler, Indiana.- Featured Link
