- Brent Alexander, 27, of Wilmette finished the 26.2-mile course in 2:28.24 at Sunday's Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon.
•Josie Johnson, a senior from Wilmette, helped Colgate University women's soccer team (4-7-1) to a 1-0 win over American University on Oct. 3.
•Chas Gillespie of Wilmette scored a second place finish behind teammate Daniel Chenoweth and helped lead Harvard University's cross country team past rival Yale for the second straight year last week.
•Mike Schmidt, a freshman from Wilmette, finished second overall at the Vermont State Meet while competing for Middlebury College.
•Four sailors from Loyola Academy -- Alex Post, Juliann Sargis, Davis Porter and Taylor Crimaldi -- combined their efforts for a first-place finish last weekend at the Jimmy Talbot Memorial Regatta hosted by the Chicago Yacht Club. The Rambler quartet beat out New Trier's Stephanie Hudson, Cole Rice, Charley Hall and Kelly Foreman by seven points in the team standings. - Date of Publication
