Miss Mary Gillespie is visiting her parents at Kilbourne, Wisconsin.

Mrs. C. B. Prouty is visiting her sister, Mrs. W. Foster, at Beverley Hills, Chicago.

Mrs. M. E. Seymour of Hubbard Woods is visiting her daughter, Mrs. E. V. Gale, 75 East Division street, Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. John M. Curran, Miss Catherine Curran and John Davidison Curran are spending two weeks at Excelsior Springs, Mississippi.

Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Matz of Hubbard Woods, with their daughter, Miss Ruth Matz, the first of the week will move in town to 1235 Astor street for the winter.

The Young Ladies' Auxiliary will join with the North shore Catholic Woman's League in a card party to be given the evening of December 5 at the Winnetka Woman's Club.

Cards were issued by Mrs. Ja mes Foster Porter to meet the teachers' and educational committee of hte Teachers' and Parents' Association at 4 o'clock at the Woman's Club.

Mrs. William Blair gave the first of a series of at homes Thursday afternoon. Refreshments and music were enjoyed. Sewing was busily engaged in for the benefir of various societies during the coming winter.

The engagement is announced of Miss Ruth Gregory, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gregory, to Arthur Sweetser of Boston. Miss Gregory is a granddaughter of Mrs. William G. Hibbard and sister of Mrs. Raymond Durham.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ogden Magie of 735 Sheridan road will give a dance New Year's eve at the Winnetka Woman's Club, for Miss Henrietta Magie, who will come home from Rosemary hall for the holidays, and for JOhn and Frank Magie, who will come form Harvard.

Miss Ruth Matz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Matz, of Hubbard woods, will be introduced Saturday at a tea and dinner dance, given by her grandmother, Mrs. Charles M. Henderson, 1816 Prairie avenue. The young ladies assisting will be the Misses Elizabeth Fuller, lice Cudahy, Margaret Houghteling, Martha Clow, Evelyn Shaw, Grace Tuttle, Marie Hessert, Florence Smith, Eleanor Hambleton, Gladys Hambleton, Constance Tyrell, Augusta Fenger and Georgiana Owsley.

The women of Christ Episcopal church are to be congratulated upon the success of the Bon Marche, held Wednesday afternoon and evening in the new parish house. Part of the proceeds will be sent to the United Charities in Chicago. Instead of having a grab bag, a group of debutantes were dressed to represent the "Lady with a Thousand Pockets," and every pocked was filled with toys and "goodies." The young lady masqueraders included the Misses Augusta Fenger, Ruth Matz, Sarah Hoyt, Ruth Bradstreet, Margaret Houghtelling, Ruth and Jean Hopkins.

The turkey dinner, in charge of Mrs. W. J. Cook, and the cabaret program, with Mrs. Albert M. Kales in charge, both proved successful. Mrs. W. H. Merrill was general chairman of the affair, and among those assisting her were Mesdames John H Hardin, James Simpson, Victor Elting, J. W. Scott, J. Allen Haines, William L. McIlvaine, John Stewart, W. H. Martin, Hale Holden, Charles I. Sturgis, Frank Greene, Charles H. Thorpe [Thorne ?], George K. Owsley, Archibald W. Shaw, Raynor Starr, R. H. C. Miller, C. S. Ostrom, James G. Weart, George J. Farnsworth, P aul Williams, Farwell Copeland and Howard Beck.
