A very pretty wedding was solemnized last Saturday evening, when Miss [illegible] Karst, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. [illegible] Karst was united in marriage to Oliver J. Tobias, son of Dr. and Mrs. George J. Tobias of Wilmette at the home of the bride's parents, 1215 Forest avenue. Rev. John of St. Paul's Church in Chicago, performed the ceremony. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Irma Karst, as maid of honor, and wore a gown of white charmeuse and silk net trimmed with Chantilly lace. Her veil of tulle was caught with orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Karst was simply robed in yellow charmeuse, with a chiffon overdrapery of white. She carried an arm bouquet of tea roses. Mr. George W. Tobias, a brother of the groom, was his only attendant. After January 1 Mr. and Mrs. Tobias will be at home at 1010 [number unclear] Greenview avenue, Chicago.

A sewing circle for the United Charities has been organized with Mrs. David Forsyth Anderson of Chestnut avenue in charge which meets every Monday afternoon. If anyone wishes to send in contributions, they will be gratefully accepted.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Jackson Casse and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thomas entertained a number of their friends at dinner Wednesday evening, December 2 [?], at the Chicago Athletic Club. Coves were laid for ten couples.

The Round Robin Dancing Club will hold its first dancing party this evening at the Ouilmette Country Club. There are about twenty-five couples in the club. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baker are to be in charge.

The prize winners at the card party at the Country Club Monday afternoon were Mesdames Nichola of Chicago, first; Thomas Knox, second; and Mrs. Ida Jones, third.

On Tuesday evening, December 29, the Woman's Catholic Club will give a Christmas party at the Woman's Club. Cards will be played. In the afternoon the children will be given a party at Brown's Hall.

The Bowling club of the Ouilmette Country Club met Monday afternoon in the clubhouse. It was guests' day, and about twenty-two were in attendance.

Mrs. Royal A. Buckman entertained her "500 club at her home, 210 [number unclear] Ninth street, Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday evening the Men's Duplicate Whist club will meet at the Ouilmette Country Club.

Tomorrow evening there will be auction lilies at the Country club.

The Friday Luncheon and Bridge Club will meet next Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. John Ling on Greenwood avenue. The club has adopted the scheme of turning the money formerly used for prizes into a deposit to be used to pay [illegible] woman's rent in Chicago each month.

Mr. and Mrs. William Smith will entertain the birthday club at dinner tomorrow evening at their home, [number illegible] Lake avenue. Covers will be laid for twelve.

North Shore residents are taking a decided interest in charity this winter and are making provisions in many ways. On Thursday evening a charity ball will be given at the Ouilmette Country Club. The expenses have all been donated in one way or another, and the entire proceeds are to be utilized in filling baskets for the Good Fellows. It is desired that at least twenty-five or thirty famlies may be prsented with these baskets. A feature of the evening will be [illegible] music by Krell [unclear]. The tickets are two dollars a couple.

Mr. and Mrs. James [illegible] of Gregory avenue entertained at cards Saturday evening.

An extract from The Daily [illegible], dated December 1 reads as follows: A simple wedding ceremony took place at 6 o'clock last night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Anderson in West Fourteenth street when Mr. Anderson's niece, Miss Louise Nance, and Mr. Seymour C. Wheelock were united in marriage by Rev. Charles C. Weaver [unclear], pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church. Only members of the family [illegible] including the groom's parents, Mr.and Mrs. S. A. Wheelock of Wilmette, and Mr. M. B. Anderson of Houston Texas, an uncle of the bride. Mrs. W. H. Hays [unclear] and Mrs. [illegible]. The bride was attired in a [illegible] traveling gown of [illegible] gabardine and a black [illegible] hat. She carried a bouquet of bride roses and wore a pendant of diamonds and [illegible], the gift of Mr. Wheelock. Little Susan Clayton [unclear] held her bouquet during the taking of vows. A buffet supper was served after the ceremony and Mr. Wheelock and his bride left immediately for their [illegible] home in Denver.

Miss Ruth Moulding [illegible] Greenwood avenue has issued invitations for a "500" party on Wednesday afternoon, December 23.

Dr. and Mrs. William J. Montgomery [illegible] Greenwood avenue, will entertain the village board of trustees and their wives on Monday evening.

Mrs. Harry Griswold, 619 [unclear] Eleventh street, was hostess to her luncheon and bridge club on Tuesday of this week.

Mrs. Andrew J. Woodcock, 924 Sheridan road, gave a children's party Wednesday afternoon for her daughte, Eileen, in honor of her twelfth birthday. About twenty-five children were very pleasantly entertained.
