- The Gastrointestinal Liver Didseaste Council, now called the Walter Payton Center Guild, at the University of Illinois MEdical Center hosted its annual fundraising event Oct. 18 in the Fairmont Hotel. The event raised close to $1 million dollars to support gastrointestinal liver disease and transplant programs at the UIC College of Medicine and the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago.
