- McKenzie is getting ready for the 2009-2010 PTA. Committee leaders interested in chairing their positions again or PTA members interested in chairing a committee may contact Kimbra Burnside to communicate that interest.
• Parents are encouraged to volunteer in the school library. Contact Jill Pinkerton to help out.
• The Kindness Connection is hosting service learning projects this week at McKenzie. This year, the kindergarten classes are decorating placemats for the homebound elderly; the first-grade classes are decorating treasure boxes for elderly residents at a local nursing home; second- and third-grade classes are making picture frames for local animal shelters to help with adoptions; and fourth-grade classes are once again making fleece pillows for children in foster care.
• The first organizational meeting of the fourth-grade farewell committee will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 29. Those interested in helping to plan the farewell may contact Erin McCarthy. - Date of Publication
