- The Van Vlierbergens sought permission from the village board not to have a two-car garage, or any garage, on their property on the 200 block of Fifth Street. They tore down their old two-story house in October and are replacing it with another home that is under construction. Since the family can park their cars on a concrete pad already on their property, the village dropped the garage requirement.
