- State Sen. James T. Meeks, D-15th, in support of increased funding for Chicago schools, invited a legislative adversary to a meeting Monday at Chicago's Fenger High School. State Sen. Chris Lauzen, R-25th of Aurora, holds the position that parents not money are the big problem. Some North Shore residents attended the meeting at the invitation of Sen. Meeks. They included Lee Goodman of Northbrook and Lali Watt, a former Wilmette village trustee
