The annual meeting and luncheon of the North Shore Advisory board of the Illinois Children's Home and Aid society was held Monday morning, January 5, at the Evanston home, [unclear] Ridge avenue. The honorary and associate members were included and a large number were present. The reports of officers and chairmen of committees were read and were most encouraging, showing an increase among all types of activities.
The treasurer reported the receipts including the amount in hand January 1, 1913, were [illegible] and expenditures $9,366.71 leaving a balance of $33.95 in the treasury, instead of $443 as stated in the Evanston News on Tuesday.
Dr. Dwight Clark, who gives so generously of his time and strength to the care of children, was present and reported the home in good condition and the children receiving excellent care and attention. The annual charity ball was given in November, and the proceeds, when received, will be used for current expenses during the year.
The fall donation of provisions and kitchen supplies was the largest ever received and the board extends their gratitude and appreciation to the residents of Evanston and the north shore for their generous response to the numerous appeals for money, clothing, and food. Two hundred and seventy children have been placed in homes during the past year.
With the [unclear] changes, the officers and representatives whose terms expired were retired.- Featured Link
