The new junior high school room of the Wilmette Public Library will open Monday, to coincide with the opening of the Wilmette public schools, Miss Helen Siniff, librarian, announced this week.
rowded conditions in the children's room made expansion necessary. Rather than add an addition to the building, the library board decided to convert the auditorium on he se cond floor for this purpose, she said.
The new department will serve children in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. Study tables and an increased reference collection will enable the library to better serve the school needs of the children and to supplement the resources of the school libraries. Although separate junior high schools are quite common, few if any departments in public libraries have been devoted to their needs, she added.

Moving Days
Mrs. Carolyn Merrill will have charge off the new room, assisted by Mrs. Mary Brown.
The children's room will be closed tomorrow and Saturday, to move books into the new department and to rearrange the children's room as a consequence of the move upstairs. Both departments will be open for business again Monday.
