On Monday evening of next week, an enjoyable operetta, "The Japanese Girl" is to be presented at the Woman's Club, by the members of the Young Woman's Auxiliay of the Wilmette Catholic Woman's League. The costumes for the affair, as well as the oriental decorations, promise to make a most attractive setting for the little playlet. The young women taking part include the Misses Mary Anderson, Edna Seng, Coletta Fischer, Vivienne Morin, Teresa and Mary McArdle, Celia Hammes, Katherine Crush, Elizabeth Kirchberg, Marie Brahm, Margaret Hayes, Lillian Phelan, Isabel Schuldbach, Pauline DeHaye, Eva Ballin, Loretta Frawley and Claudia Verhalen. Miss Cecilia Berry and Mrs. M. J. Sturm are coaching the cast, which is to be augmented by Mrs. Albert Frawley, who will render several solos during the evening. Tickets may be obtained from any member of the auxiliary, Mrs. Albert Frawley, or from Mrs. F. H. Jones. Following the entertainment there will be informal dancing.

Dr. and Mrs. Richard Pattillo, 620 Forest avenue, and Mr. and Mrs. George Russell Linn, 810 Forest avenue, entertained with a dinner dance at the North Shore hotel last evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Orja Glenwood Corn, 900 Greenwood avenue, have issued invitations for a dancing party, to be given at the Ouilmette Country Club, on Tuesday evening, February 3.

Miss Irene Ustick will present her pupils in piano recital at the Wilmette Woman's Club this evening, at 8 o'clock. An invitation is extended to all. The program, which promises to be a most delightful one, will include the following numbers: Picnic Dance, March of the Little Sages by Spindles [performed by] Albert Abegg; Tarantella by Mathew [performed by] Margaret Forsman; The Robins Lullaby by Krogmann [performed by] David Boyington; Betty's Waltz by Martin [performed by] Margaret Varney; Duett, Little Fairy March by Freeman [performed by] Margaret Forsman and Dorothy Boyington; Bird song by Popp [performed by] Lucille Maye; Idle Moments Waltz by Lichner [performed by] Albert Abegg; Selection for Left Hand Alone arranged by Mero, The Viking March by Verner [performed by Dorothy Boyington; A Group of Songs Miss Florence Ustik, Soprano with Miss Irene Ustick, accompanist; Duet, Little Amethyst Mzurka by Engelmann performed by Dorothy Boyington and David Boyington; The Tulip by Lichner [performed by] Lucille Maye; Sweet Violet by Heins [performed by] Margaret Forsman; Gypsy Dance by Lichner [performed by David Boyington; Valse in E Flat by Durand [erformed by Marian Meinel; A group of songs [performed by] Misses Florence Ustick, soprano, Miss Irene Ustick, accompanist and Mrs. Alex Klein, violin allagato; Simple Confession by Thome [performed by Dorothy Boyington; Duet, Blust Rose Waltz by Fearis [unclear] [performed by Margaret Varney and Marian Mienel.

A meeting of the Board of Directors of Economy Shop was held on Wednesday afternoon preceding the regular meeting of the Woman's Club. Mrs. Blanche Wanner is chairman of The Economy Shop committee, and has assisting her, Mesdames E. B. Mendsen, J. R. Haprer, J. R. Linn, Fred Rice, W. W. Baldwin, Evans R. James, Burt Nichols, Frank King, Edward Lilienfield, S. H. Vowell, Mortimer B. Skinner, Richard Cody, Burt C. Hardenbrook, Charles N. Reese, Richard W. Jordan and Wilbur Robertson.

At the January meeting of the Public School Art league Mrs. paul Lobanoff accented the position as chairman of the membership committee. the officers for 1902 are: President, Mrs. I. R. Harper; vice president, Mrs. Helen Gage; recording secretary, Mrs. Hope Thompson; corresponding secretary, Mrs. A. H. Howard; treasurer, Mrs. Lafayette Cozzens

Mrs. Jacob B. Greiner, 611 Lake Avenue, has as her guest, her sister, Madame Henri Jean Fykers of Nice, France. Madame Rykers has been the greater part of the past thirteen years in Belgium and France, and during the war, served as a nurse in a Belgium hospital in Nice. Madame Rykers will make her home in Chicago in the future.

The Woman's Guild of St. Augustine's Church will hold an all-day meeting on Friday, February 6, in the Parish house, beginning at 10:30 o'clock.

Mrs. George D. Upson, 607 Washington avenue, was hostess to the Comanci club on Tuesday afternoon.

Last Saturday evening Mrs. Samuel Cohen, 1231 Forest Avenue, gave a dinner party for her daughter, Ruth, in honor of her seventh birthday anniversary. The guests included Dorothy, Jean and Jessie Hosmer, George Glover, James Hood, Amy Hosmer, Dorothy Glover and Mary Hood, and their mothers. The table decorations were in pink and white.

Mrs. Paul Lobanoff, 1118 Greenleaf avenue, has been appointed Wilmette chairman of the Fair Price Commission, and will be able to furnish speakers for meetings of the various organizaitons, upon request. Assisting Mrs. Lobanoff will be mesdames Thomas Copeland and David J. Davis.

Announcement is made by Mr. and Mrs. Edward D. Parmelee of 512 Roslyn road, Kenilworth, of the engagement of their daughter, charlotte, to Samuel Loomis Hypes, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hypes of 1126 Michigan boulevard, Evanston.

The Manuka Club was entertained at luncheon esterday at the home of Mrs. George Harbaug, 1219 Forest avenue. The last meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Charles van Westdienen, 1213 Forest Avenue.

The Central Avenue Circle will be entertained by Mrs. George Barry, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. A. MacLean, 924 Greenwood avenue. Mrs. Monroe R. Venables will assist as hostess, on Friday afternoon, February 6.

Mrs. Theodore B. Potter, 607 Forest avenue, is leaving Sunday to join the Wilmette colony at Clearwater, Florida. Mr. Potter will not go until sometime next month.

Mrs. C.R. Smith of Chicago, formerly of Wilmette, who has been visiting with he daughter, Mrs. Cecil Dobson near Florence, Montana, announces the arrival of a son at the Dobson home.

The East End Circle will meet with Mrs. F. L. S. Harmon, 1011 chestnut avenue, for luncheon on Monday, February 2. The hostesses are Mesdames Ralph Pettit, Frank Watson and Dwight Harris.

The Crescent Circle meets Tuesday afternoon, February 3, at the home of Mrs. W. H. Kist, 830 Laurel Avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest P. Bartlett of Elmwood avenue returned last evening from Cleveland, Ohio.

Friends of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Smith of 806 Oakwood avenue, have received word of their arrival aboard the Rotterdam in New York early this week, from Paris, France. They will probably return to their home tomorrow.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Clarke, 716 Lake avenue, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Brown, 612 Lake avenue, will leave Sunday for an extended trip to Panama.

Mrs. W. J. King entertained informally on Tuesday afternoon at her home, 611 Forest avenue, for her mother, Mrs. Rudd, in honor of her seventieth birthday anniversary.

The Drama Study class will commence the second half of its course of readings on Thursday, February 19. Members of the Woman's Club are urged to attend these meetings.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sanford Clarke, 526 Washington avenue, are planning to leave sometime next week for Clearwater, Florida, to spend the remainder of the winter.

The Philathea class will be entertained next Tuesday evening at the homeof Miss Jessie ay, 929 Twelfth street.

Mr. and Mrs. George Schroeder are wintering at Clearwater, Florida.
