- Football Nine players from New Trier announced their college choices after the national letter of intent signing day.
The list includes quarterback Stu Brown (Kenyon College), Alex Porter (University of Illinois), Jack Goritz (Carroll University), Harrison Furse (Penn), Robert Wasielewski (Amherst), Matt Andre (Dayton University), Nick Nykaza (Butler University), Alex Nadolna (Knox College) and Brian Frett (Carleton College).
From Loyola Academy, all-state punter Paul Delaney will attend Columbia University. Other football players who recently announced their college choices for next year. Linebackers Kyle Guziec (University of South Dakota) and Jimbo Ford (Georgetown University) previously announced their commitments, along with defensive lineman Chance Carter, who is headed to Northwestern University.
Bowling Loyola girls bowling team won a 12th place finish in team standings at the recent IHSA Rolling Meadows Sectional. Players include Ellen Cholewa, Amanda Szramiak, Anne Porto.
Baseball Wilmette Waves American Legion baseball team will host its annual Baseball Night fund-raiser event Sunday at the Wilmette American Legion Hall, 1925 Wilmette Avenue in Wilmette. Guest speakers will be Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts and Waves/ New Trier High School coach Mike Napoleon. General manager Don Wallace.
