Notes
The leaders of the Bull Moose organization in Evanston are accused of selecting their delegates at a secret meeting the night before the delgation committee convened. The secret meeting was held at the home of Dr. McElveen on Friday evening and on Saturday at the Avenue House, the committee met to select delgates. The list of names decideded upon by the leaders on Friday matched the Saturday nomination list. Prominent in the selection was always hopeful George P. Engelhard, also known as "Carnation George", who hopes to unseat George Edmund Foss. Also present was Harry Nightingale, chairman of this political party, who wants the seat now held by William E. Anderson. All of this was very upsetting to the party's followers.
