Henry C. Cooper, a resident of Wilmette for twenty years, died Friday, July 5, at the age of 84 years, at his home, 824 Lake avenue, after a brief illness. Funeral services were held last Sunday and were conducted by Dr. William F. English of Wilmette. Burial was at Memorial Park.
Mr. Cooper, a Civil War veteran, had served with Grant and Sherman, and was in Sherman's famous "march to the sea." He was a member of the Fiftieth Illinois Volunteer regiment, and was at one time commander of the Stevenson Post at Springfield. He is survived by his widow, four daughters, Edith of Wilmette, Olive E. of Chicago, Mrs. C. A. Walter of Oak Park, and Mrs. W. E. Lane of Evanston, and a son Frederick A. of Wilmette.- Featured Link
