Peter H. Coolsen, 73, of 2150 Beachwood Ave., Wilmette, died Sunday in Edens View Rest Home in Northbrook.
He retired as secretary of the Edgar S. Kiefer Tanning Co., Chicago, in 1954 after 40 years with the firm.
Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., he lived in Evanston 25 years before moving to Wilmette in 1948. He was a member of the Hide and Leather Association and SS. Faith, hope and Charity Roman Catholic Church in Winnetka.
Survivors include his widow, Augusta R.; a daughter, Mrs. Harry P. Homan, 2647 Glenview Rd., Glenview; a son, Frank G. of Bethesda, Md.; a sister, Miss Elizabeth Coolsen of Nassau, Bahama islands; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were conducted yesterday in SS. Faith, Hope, and Charity Church by the Rev. Edward Corcoran. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
