League of Women Voters workshop by full-time and grassroots activists, lawmakers and lobbyists aims to outline how voters can get get their opinions heard. Free workshops will be held at New Trier High School on October 2. Panelists include state Senator Jeffrey Schoenberg, State Representative Elizabeth Coulson, State Representative Julie Hamos and Wilmette resident Betty Jacobs. Also invited are both Illinois Senators Richard Durbin and Peter Fitzgerald and Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin. Co-sponsors of the workshop are New Trier Township High School, New Trier Township, Pioneer Press and local Leagues of Women Voters. Committee for the event includes Charlene Shryer, Nancy Marcus, Joan Fragen, Clarine Hall, Jack Martens and Mari Terman.
