- Charles Emerson McGill, 81, of Wilmette and formerly of Evanston, died January 3, 2003 at home. Born January 13, 1921 in Evanston. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jeanne Coughlin McGill; two daughters, Catherine (William) Kummerow of Wilmette and Molly (Karl) Ottolini of Wilmette; a son, John “Jay” (Karyl) McGill of Weston, Connecticut; six grandchildren, Bill (Aline) Kummerow of Lawrence, Kansas, Jim Kummerow of Wilmette, Megan McGill of Weston, Connecticut, Kerry McGill of Weston, Connecticut, Kate Ottolini of Wilmette, and Beth Ottolini of Wilmette; a great-grandchild, Liam Kummerow of Lawrence, Kansas; two sisters, Suzanne (William) Rohrer and Nancy (Eugene) Orgeron; and a brother, John (Philomena) McGill. He was preceded in death by a son, James Brian McGill; five brothers, William, Edwin (Gladys), Leon “Bud” (Claire), Richard and Ernest; and a sister, Ellen.
